Here are present some interesting teaching techniques for parents to help him learning to read and write:-
1. Make your child sit with all family members and ask him to close his eyes and then make out the noise. Ask him to recognize whose voice it was.
2. Use a small object tap it on a table or drum to make a rhythm. Then ask your child to repeat it
3. Think of a word and ask your child to tell a word that rhymes with it. Teach him nursery rhymes by reading and showing him its rhyming.
4. Place several different objects in a bag and ask your child to put his hand inside it and identify the object without viewing at it.
5. Place several objects on a table. Ask your child to look at them and then close his eyes. Pick any one of them and ask him if he can identify the missing object.
6. Teach your child recognizing picture by telling him its day to day usage. Now put your finger on any one picture and ask your child to describe it. Close the book and hand it over to him and ask him to find that picture.
7. Draw a circle or a line with a chalk on ground or on a paper and ask your child either walk on the circle or trace over it. Gradually when he starts enjoying it, you can teach him drawing curved or jagged lines for the start of drawing alphabets. For this activity various books are available in the market that can teach your child the proper writing of alphabets.
8. Draw simple incomplete objects and ask your child to complete it. Like drawing the figure of a man with one hand etc…
9. Draw a simple shape but leave some part of it with dotted line. Then ask your child to complete the shape by tracing on the dotted line. This way you can teach him names of various shapes.
10. Odd man out- Place 3 or 4 toys with similar starting alphabet on a table. Place an extra toy that starts with a different alphabet. Ask your child to speak out the name of each toy and pick odd man out.
